Born in 1987 and raised in Naples, Lofield aka Francesco Campobasso has always found a true friend in the streets. Between football games on concrete and graffiti on walls, hip hop became his first language — the one that hits you straight.

In the early 2000s, la posta centrale was the heart of the Neapolitan hip hop scene — and that’s where it all began: making beats for friends who rapped, and the constant need for records to sample. That’s how his passion for vinyl was born — a passion that soon turned into an obsession.

At the same time, almost like a mascot, one of the strongest breaking crews in Italy used to take him along to their shows. Thanks to them, he started hanging out in clubs where house music ruled. That’s when electronic music caught him — pulling him onto dancefloors all across Europe. From clubs and raves to warehouse parties and squats, from festivals to social centers, he experienced every shade of the electronic scene: from house to hard techno, drum’n’bass to frenchcore, gabber to UK garage.

In 2007, together with three friends, he launched Wozzup!?, a series of events created to bring French touch music to Naples — giving a strong push to the birth of the city’s new underground scene at the time.
But soon his path led him back to the occupied spaces — this time with a different perspective. There he discovered the mods and skinhead worlds — a universe he immediately embraced, both in philosophy and in sound. Northern Soul, ska, rocksteady, reggae, dub, 2tone: another transformation.

In 2017, he founded Vesuvius Soul Records — not just a record store, but also a label and a collective organizing events. It’s the place where he brought together all the influences, cultures, and countercultures he encountered along the way.
A meeting point where music is accessible to everyone — and where every passion and every musical journey intertwine, giving life to a true community.
